AB Con is returning for the 9th edition!
Since 2016, there has been an annual gathering of tabletop games enthusiast from around the world at the African Boardgames Convention. Considered as the oldest exclusive boardgame convention in Sub-Saharan Africa, AB Con is also the largest gathering of Tabletop games lovers, enthusiasts, designers, publishers and manufacturers in Sub- Saharan Africa!
With the aim of introducing people to the beautiful experience of tabletop games and the joy of being in a convention with people that enjoy board and card games. Since the first edition of AB Con in 2016, AB Con has boosted the growth of tabletop gaming in Africa while bringing together a community of tabletop games enthusiasts, designers, publishers and many other stakeholders.
We’re glad to announce that the African Boardgames Convention is returning this year with its 9th edition- AB Con 2025!
AB Con 2025 features a gaming arena with over 100 African games and over 500 foreign games, AB Con Kids which is a special dedicated event for children, AB Con playtest which is a design competition, AB Con awards to recognize people of impact in the past year and so much more including new game releases, Games sales and promotion, content creation, panel sessions, industry stakeholders meet up and many more.

A typical hall experience will involve walking around the big hall and checking out various activities. The hall will be divided into 4 segments. Each segments will contain different booths and gaming tables.
All gaming tables are free and will always have an AB Con Game Master assigned to recommend and teach participants games, while some booths will require an extra fee to participate.
The AB Con 2024 programme will contain more information about the booths and games.
This year we have confirmed; the participation of Eric Lang – world renowned and award-winning Tabletop Games designer with ties to CMON including working on a Marvel themed game. Eric’s presence has already caused a ripple effect – attracting other publishers and designers to the convention.
Abuja is relatively safe and the venue is located in the urban area that houses Government parastatals, offices, Top hotels and expatriate residences. However, we always advise everyone to be security conscious and report anything that seems suspicious. In this regards, during the event, we will;
